PATENT PENDINGTECHNOLOGY

Video Bandwidth Compression

 ABSTRACT

Originally developed for the NTSC-compatible broadcast of HDTV signals, these patent-pending techniques may also be applied to any moving image stream including those stored on CD-ROM. Unlike most other such systems, some embodiments of this invention require not special decoding hardware at the reception end and may, thus, be used with the vast installed base of current home television receivers. When used with home televisions, an increase in perceived resolution is achieved. This effect is available for licensing under the name Virtual Definition (ViDef).
Because of the patent-pending nature of this technology, details cannot be disclosed publicly. However, confidential disclosure may be made to interested parties.
